Every One should be beautiful to try again and again

l Beauty, Artificial Perfection” At first I started looking through my magazines. I subscribe to a couple different magazines, but they're all typical, well-known, female magazines. I didn't have any specific ideas when I started so I just began cutting out pictures and words that caught my attention. The more I cut, the more I realized that many (almost all) of the pictures were eerily similar. I saw how manipulative the media really is. The images all depict gorgeous girls with ideal bodies and looks. Most of the girls I know realize that those pictures are fake to an extent. The media can now, through the use of technology, take a picture and morph it into the exact look that the media wants to portray ultimately creating a fake photograph. With this realization I first thought to explore how technology affects woman's health: bulimia, anorexia, cutting, etc. After I kept cutting out pictures, I had an even better idea. I decided to show how woman can use the technology of make up, hair products, and plastic surgery to create their own perfect look thusly making them fake. The further women are pulled into the stronghold of the media, the more artificial they become wanting to reach that stage of perfect beauty. Artificial beauty is artificial perfection. This idea fits in with our class material in that technology is constantly changing how we perceive the world and how we work in it. Women constantly view pictures of this ideal beauty, and they're constantly given the opportunity to obtain it through researched make up, hair products, and plastic surgery technologies. All of these advances are forms of technology that pushes women to become more artificial and maybe even more robotic. I didn't encounter too many problems other than deciding where I wanted to glue the pictures. I wanted to show the progression from the images we're shown to the choices we make to become artificial; I ran into a few issues when making sure someone could look at my collage and get my exact idea and purpose.
